It’s an exciting time for our client as they continue to grow; we are therefore seeking enthusiastic candidates to join their experienced and collaborative team based out of their office location in Plymouth.

We are seeking an M&E CAD Technician and Project Assistant to join our growing team to support our 2017 business plan. The successful candidate will provide input into the delivery of projects that provide solutions to businesses across the South West.

Duties and responsibilities of the role
We are seeking an M&E CAD Technician to support the design engineering team with CAD drawings, and the wider engineering team with project co-ordination. Using Draftsight 2D you will be required to detail systems from rough or general design drawings; insert details, complete equipment schedules and other information necessary to make detailed drawings clear and complete.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
• To manage the development of M&E drawings.
• To manage and co-ordinate drawings to site as required.
• Liaising directly with engineering team to ensure client needs are met and projects are delivered on programme.
• Issuing drawings
• To maintain a drawing issue register and manage all revisions required
• Visit site on occasion to ensure everything is as per construction drawing
• To take ownership of the drawings and ensure that all information is shown to allow for accurate construction and that all third parties are in possession of up to date and accurate drawings.

Technical Skills and Qualifications:
• Demonstrable experience and working knowledge of CAD, preferably Draftsight 2D
• Understanding of basic drawing setup technique and general knowledge of drafting standards
• Heating system based project experience would be advantageous.
• Ability to quickly absorb and utilize company-specific techniques, standards and procedures
• Project management experience or ambition to work in a project-driven environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills essential for team-based working
• Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment
• Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges
• A willingness to undertake site visits when required
